That second appointment will probably become the full examination visit, though it might be an explanation of possible lines of treatment, leading to a third, full examination appointment at the patient wishes. A full examination costs £65, payable at that visit, which gives rise to a full printed statement being sent to the patient about their treatment possibilities, with choices as appropriate. From this the patient can choose what he or she wants to have done.
